Wednesday Walk 10th June meet 9.30am at Parakiore – the new Recreation Centre which is at the Hagley Park end of St Asaph Street. We will then walk round South Hagley Park and then return to Parakiore for coffee. All welcome. Barbara & Alan 021 126 3801.

Men’s Group will meet at 6pm on Thursday 11th June for a shared meal followed by Bruce Morriss talking on his experiences working in Antarctica in the 1990s. All men welcome. Rob 384 4320.

Eco Church Regenesis Planting Day Sunday 21 June 1-4pm Westmorland West Reserve, Cashmere Rd opposite Bushland Pl. BYO tools. Warm clothing and boots with good grip recommended. Join others from Eco Churches across Christchurch planting native trees and restoring biodiversity. A simple practical way to live our creation care together.

An Invitation from Fireside to the congregation and friends to hear, see, and try out ways that Aspire Canterbury can help us.  

Monday 22nd June in the church lounge with notices/devotions at 2pm and the presentation beginning at 2.30pm. Afternoon tea will follow. All are welcome.

Aspire Canterbury provides free disability information and advice, and access to resources that enable disabled people, and people with impairments to live their best life. You will have an opportunity to ask questions, receive advice and gain access to assistive products.

Topics covered include:

  • Simple and practical solutions to maintain independence
  • Up-to-date information and resources for community groups, and disability and health organisations
  • Demonstration of assistive products with the ability to purchase
  • Walking stick, walker height, and safety checks.
